Hold longer, calmly

Duckdive is a safety-first breath-hold trainer for freedivers and spearfishers on iPhone and Apple Watch. Train on dry land with CO₂ and O₂ tables built from your own personal best.

Dry land only

Use Duckdive sitting or lying down, never in or near water. Breath-hold training can cause blackout. Duckdive is a training tool, not a medical device: don’t use it if you have a heart, lung or blood-pressure condition or epilepsy, or are pregnant, and ask a doctor before starting any breath-hold training.

Tables built from your best

CO₂ and O₂ tables worked out from your own personal best, with safety caps that never let a hold get too close to it.

Plans with rest built in

4- and 8-week plans, three sessions a week with a rest day between, and a personal best test every second week.

See your progress

Your personal best over time, when your first contraction arrives, and how much you hold each week.

Apple Watch

Run tables from your wrist with haptic cues and your heart rate in every hold. Sessions sync to your iPhone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Duckdive in the water?

No. Duckdive is for dry training only: sitting or lying down, never in or near water, not even a bath or pool. Breath-hold training can cause blackout, and in water that can be fatal. In the water, always dive with a trained buddy, and learn from a certified freediving instructor.

How are my tables worked out?

From your personal best. CO₂ tables hold for half of it while the rests get shorter; O₂ tables keep two-minute rests while the holds grow to at most 80% of it. Do a personal best test in the app, or enter your time, so the tables fit you. Until then they start from one minute.

How often should I train?

One hard session a day at most, with a rest day between sessions, and a personal best test about every two weeks. The plans are built that way, and the app asks before you start a second hold session on the same day.

What is the personal best test?

A breathe-up, two easy warm-up holds with rests, then one hold for as long as is comfortable, followed by three minutes of recovery. Stop at the first warning sign, such as light-headedness or tingling: a best is never worth it. You can test once a day.

What does Duckdive Pro include?

Plans with reminders, custom tables, your full history and charts, the Apple Watch app, widgets and saving to Apple Health. Choose monthly, annual (with a one-week free trial) or a one-time lifetime purchase.

How do I restore or cancel a purchase?

To restore, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. To manage or cancel a subscription, tap Manage subscription there, or go to your Apple Account’s subscriptions in the Settings app.

The Watch app says I need Pro.

The Watch app is part of Duckdive Pro. After buying Pro, open Duckdive on your iPhone once so your Watch picks it up.

Does Duckdive collect my data?

No. There’s no account, no analytics and no tracking. Your training stays on your devices, and Apple Health is optional. The privacy policy has the details.
